Local Language Coach is an iPhone app for people learning for daily life, family, work, travel, or personal interest. Choose a regional course, learn one phrase at a time, and bring each phrase back through varied practice and spaced review.
Choose the language and region that matter to you
- Available at launch: Spanish for Spain, Mexico, and Costa Rica
- Planned after separate content, audio, and release validation: Spanish for Argentina and Colombia, Brazilian Portuguese for Brazil, French for France and Québec, and Italian for Italy
Each available regional course contains 60 lessons and 300 phrases. The courses use documented beginner baselines for the named region. They do not claim that one course, accent, or word choice represents every community within a country or province. Planned courses are not included or advertised as available until they pass the same release gates.
Learn, retrieve, and review
- Learn one phrase at a time with its English meaning and a usage note.
- Practice speaking recall, listening comprehension, sentence building, reading, missing words, and target-language selection.
- Review phrases again on a spaced schedule instead of seeing them once and moving on.
- Use listening scenes built from completed lessons.
- Save phrases for focused practice.
- Keep course content and pronunciation audio available offline.
- Sync eligible progress through your private iCloud database when iCloud is available.
Research-based regional courses
Course wording is checked against language authorities, region-specific references, and current first-party sources such as transport operators and central banks. Regional speech still varies by speaker, community, relationship, and setting. Our methodology page explains what the research can establish and where uncertainty remains.
Clear audio disclosure
The app uses pre-generated synthetic neural voices selected for the displayed language or regional locale. Audio is bundled with the app for offline playback. It is not a recording of a live instructor. Optional speaking practice can temporarily record your phrase for on-device transcription and playback.
One membership for every included course
Monthly and annual memberships unlock every currently included regional course, Review, Listen, Saved, Use Now, offline audio, and eligible course updates while the membership is active. Both plans are configured with a 7-day free trial for eligible subscribers. Apple determines introductory-offer eligibility, and each person can redeem only one introductory offer in the subscription group.
